TNB Mobilizes Emergency Teams Ahead of Flood Threat in East Coast

KUALA LUMPUR – Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is on high alert following flood warnings issued by the National Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (PRABN), with heavy rain forecasted to hit Terengganu and Kelantan beginning tonight.

TNB confirmed it has deployed technical and emergency teams to the field and will take precautionary measures, including temporary power cuts in areas at risk of flooding to prevent electrical hazards.

“We will act decisively to ensure public safety. Any disconnection of electricity will be coordinated with local authorities and disaster response teams,” the statement said.

The public is strongly advised to handle electrical appliances with care during the flood season and to heed all instructions from emergency agencies.

TNB can be contacted via Careline 15454, or through its digital platforms for further assistance.

Simultaneously, MetMalaysia has issued a weather alert with continuous rain expected in multiple districts across the East Coast and parts of Sabah until tomorrow.
